Install as an app
Put Epilykos on your phone or computer like an app, and let it switch between home and away addresses.

You can install Epilykos on a phone, tablet or computer and open it like any other app, with its own icon and window. (Behind the scenes it's a Progressive Web App, so there's nothing to download from an app store.)
Install it
Open the dashboard in your browser, then:
- On Android (Chrome), open the menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
- On iPhone and iPad (Safari), tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- On a computer (Chrome or Edge), click the install icon in the address bar.
On iPhone and iPad, push notifications only work once Epilykos has been added to the Home Screen.
What the app does

Home and away addresses
Set these in Settings → Network:
- Address at home, for example
http://192.168.1.10:3000. The app uses this while your phone or computer is on your home network: it's fast, and works even when the internet is down. - Address away from home, for example
https://energy.example.com. The app uses this everywhere else.
The app tries the home address first and switches to the away address if it can't reach it. Both addresses are handed to the app when you save them, so open Settings and save them once on each device you install the app on.
Don't have an address for when you're away? Tailscale or a Cloudflare Tunnel can give you one, and Tailscale even fills in Address away from home for you.
Troubleshooting
If live updates stop working with the message closed before connection is established, an old copy of the app's background worker is getting in the way. Clear it (in your browser's settings, under site data for the Epilykos address) and reload the page. If you use a reverse proxy, also check its WebSocket settings.
